Shielded cable is used to create healthier homes because it doesn’t emit relentless electric fields radiation which voltage produces and throws out of normal electrical cable. Shielded cable is ideally used throughout a newly constructed home to ‘clean’ up the entire home design, but can also be used to in existing homes to reduce exposure or track new electrical lines past sensitive areas like bedrooms. We have shielded cable available in rolls and we can also cut you shorter lengths are desired.
The added shielding in shielded electrical cable prevents electric fields from emanating from the walls and ceiling.
Due to the design where a grounded metal jacket sits around the internal cables, the electric fields that voltage will through out easily 2meters/6foot into the surrounding spaces, will be contained. In the creation of a healthy home and the battle against low-level radiation exposure (EMF) the internal wiring in a home is almost always a problem. By utilising shielded cable, this problem can be dramatically reduced and a calmer, more health supportive home and bedroom can be created.
Shielded cable also lends itself well to ‘sneak’ electrical cabling past sensitive areas like bedrooms. RF radiation shielding, like shielding paint and shielding mesh, may also not need to be grounded when shielded cable is used instead of normal cable.
CABLE CONSTRUCTION
1. Conductors: Conductors extra fine annealed copper wires. Class 5
2. Screening: Aluminium/Myler tape plus tinned copper braid. Minimum braid coverage 80%. Aluminium/Mylar coverage 100%
3. Insulation: XLPE 90°C
4. Sheath: Black Sheath 90°C flexible NBR Elastomer or Clear sheath 90°C flexible PVC. Both resistant to most oils, acids & solvents. UV stabilised and flame retardant.
